Brie en Croute

Notes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Puff pastry sheet
  • One egg whisked with a bit of water
  • Cranberry jelly (I used the one that my father makes)
  • Diced almonds
  • Round of brie

THE RECIPE:

I made my puff pastry sheet from scratch, but I recommend buying one already made from the store as it is quicker to put together for a picnic and doesn't require preparation the day before.
Preheat the oven to 400F or about 200C
Prepare your board with flour and lay the puff pastry out.
Spread the cranberry jelly out on the center of the pastry sheet, as much as you prefer.
Sprinkle almonds over the cranberry jelly and then place the brie on top.
Fold the excess dough over the cheese so that the contents are completely covered and then flip it over entirely so that the excess is at the bottom.
Use a brush to coat the dough with the water and egg mixture.
Sprinkle a few more almonds over the top for decoration.
Place in the oven for 20 minutes on a baking tray or until golden brown.
