One Year, Déjà ? | Eurolinguiste Celebrates 1 Year Eurolinguiste

Today I’m celebrating one year of as blog!

I first began using Eurolinguiste as a moniker while I was studying for my degree at Queen’s University Belfast because I had decided that my previous username was a bit outdated and I wanted something that fit who I was at that time. It’s been three years (June 12, 2011) since I’ve moved to Southern California from Belfast, Ireland (how did that happen?).

It’s hard to believe how fast time is going.

Before I do a short recap of the past year, I just wanted to say what a pleasure it’s been to meet all of you and to share some of my experiences learning languages and traveling with you. I look forward to what this next year will bring!

Also, because, why not? Here are a few fun search terms that have brought people to my blog:

list of things to do to feel accomplished – Dear whoever you are, I hope reading my blog made you feel like you accomplished something… If not, that’s cool, too.

like crazy themed wedding invitations – I’m really not sure what that means…

expectations are a funny thing – why, yes. Yes, they are.

i will like to spend time studying – me too

saxy images – this just makes me giggle

why are there so many french in dublin – I was actually wondering that too! If you found the answer, please let me know!

eurodicshanary – Ugh! Why didn’t I think of spelling it that way? I didn’t even realize I could have fit my name into it! I guess I’m not as clever as I thought!

diy jacques cousteau – I’m not sure if this is possible…

My most popular post? This one on sociolinguistics. My least popular? This one. I can’t be the only one that likes old doors?

Anyway… Thank you so much for sharing this past year with me! I look forward to this next one.

  • Congrats on celebrating one year! I just stumbled upon your blog and it is awesome!

I almost fell off my chair laughing while reading those unbelievable search terms… “eurodicshanary” Seriously?! 😀

How could it be your least popular post the one about doors? Trust me, you’re not alone, I love old doors as well!

You’ve accomplished a lot but I do wish you a year even more successful than the latest one. Keep up the great work!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words Claire! I’m currently in the middle of exploring your blog as well.

Yes, some of the search terms were quite hilarious, there were more but I tried to pick the best ones.

Good question – glad you love old doors too! They can be quite beautiful and sometimes I even feel as though they have their own unique “personalities” if that makes any sense at all!

Thank you. Much success to you as well!

      • It does! It makes sense, indeed! I’m passionate about antique trade and I feel as though every single antique object has its unique personality, so I totally get what you mean.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. You should write a brand new post with new ridiculous search terms every time you can… it would be so fun! 😀

        • Ooh, antique trade. That’s really cool!

Thanks Claire, I’ll try to include posts with some fun search terms whenever they come up.

  • Okay, the search terms completely cracked me up! Happy one year of this blog to you!

  • This is such a great round up of the year! Brilliant idea!
