If you struggle with past tenses in French, then I’ve got news for you…

You’re not alone!

In fact, French learners from Paris to Perpignan have a hard time learning to use past tenses the right way in French:
  • Memorising verb conjugations in different tenses
  • Remembering the irregular forms of difficult verbs
  • Knowing whether to use être or avoir with verbs in the passé composé tense
  • And choosing which past tense to use in different situations
And doing all of that while face-to-face with a native French speaker!

Is it j'ai mangé ? Or je mangeais ? And what's the difference anyway?

It’s enough to make you want to throw in the towel!

Well, not so fast...

Help is at hand!

I’ve created a unique 30-day challenge, Perfect Past Tenses, that will help you learn and internalise French past tenses, so you can speak clearly and accurately about events in the past...

And enjoy speaking French again!

Introducing the March Challenge:

Perfect Past Tenses

With...

Here’s how the challenge works.

The challenge is based on an exciting original story in French that develops over the 30 days of the challenge.

This is a brand new story, written exclusively for this 30-Day Challenge.

We’ve created the story to be jam-packed with dozens of the most common French verbs in the passé composé and imparfait past tenses.

But it's not just the story...

Every day, you’ll receive one new chapter of the story, along with an insightful video lesson and simple exercises to help you understand the past tense verbs and sentences that you find in the story.

It'll take you about 15 minutes each day.

All you have to do is show up every day…

Over the course of the month, the daily immersion will help you absorb this tricky aspect of French grammar naturally, until past tenses just “sound right” to you.

You’ll be able to speak French in the past tense more freely and fluently, because the past tenses and verb conjugations you need will already be where you need them - on the tip of your tongue!
Master French Past Tenses In The Next 30 Days!
The concept is beautifully simple!

Every day, for 30 days, you’ll get:

One 250-word chapter of our French story (jam-packed with examples of French past tenses)
• The written story plus audio book (so you can read or listen...wherever you are!)
• An insightful daily video lesson with our instructor, Nolwenn. (She’ll explain the past tenses in the story)
• A short daily practice exercise (to help you remember what you’ve learned)
• Discussion with dozens of fellow challengers in our interactive Facebook group (so you can discuss the story and get answers to questions).

We’ve carefully structured the entire 30 days, so all you have to do is turn up and get stuck in!

Frequently Asked Questions
What level is the challenge for?
Both the story and the lesson content are aimed at A2-B1 level. (That's high-beginner to low-intermediate).

In other words, this is for you if you've been studying French for a little while (or maybe a long while!) and can understand at least some French, but struggle to express yourself in a comfortable and natural way in conversation.
I'm already using another course/app. I don't have time for this.
This challenge is a great complement to other French courses or apps you might be learning with.

The reason is that most language courses focus on teaching you the language broadly... and that's great - you need those broad brushstrokes in order to understand how the language works.

But in this challenge, you'll focus intently on a single topic - the French past tenses - for 30 days.

It's the perfect way of honing in on an essential aspect of the French language that is probably only covered briefly in your other courses and apps... and mastering it once and for all.

This is totally doable because the daily commitment with this challenge is only 15 minutes. So it's a pretty manageable amount of time to devote to your French, even if you're currently using another course or app as well.

The challenge is also extremely flexible. We've designed each lesson to be easy to consume on the go, whenever you have a few free minutes, so you can fit it in comfortably:
• before breakfast
• during your lunch break
• after dinner
• ...even while waiting for the bus!
How can I access the challenge?
Mobile, desktop, laptop, tablet... The challenge is super user-friendly and you'll be able to log on from anywhere!
What exactly will I learn? How will this challenge help me?
During this challenge, we'll focus on French past tenses, recycled over and over throughout the story. You'll see dozens of essential verbs used in different tenses and contexts over and over in the story.

This means you'll master French past tenses to the point where they're effortless and automatic, and you instinctively know how to use them.
What if it's too hard, or my level is too low?
To make the challenge achievable, we've kept each chapter short - only 250 words! This means that you'll be able to easily make it to the end of the chapter each day, even if it does take you a little longer.

However, the daily video lessons will give you all the support you need, as you'll have clear, professional explanations for how the past tenses are used in the story.

This means that, even if you're really unsure about French past tenses right now, just by watching and studying the daily videos, you'll learn to think about them like a native speaker by the end of the challenge. If I had my way, this is the only way students would ever learn French grammar!
What's so special about this "story" method anyway?
Most French students try to learn French past tenses through rules and rote memorisation. This doesn't work, and is extremely stressful for you as a learner. Why? Because there are lots of so-called "rules" and it's impossible to hold them all in your head at the same time while you're speaking. It's also not a natural approach ... native speakers don't learn the language with rules and memory tricks, after all!

With the "Perfect Past Tenses" challenge, you'll learn through example and context, just like native speakers do! The magic of learning through story is that your main focus is actually not on the memorising anything... you concentrate on understanding and enjoying the story!

As you're reading and listening to the story, the past tenses will begin to lodge themselves subconsciously in your brain. It doesn't happen right away - in fact it may take a couple of weeks for you to feel the real effects. But by the end of the 30 days, you'll have a native-like command of French past tenses that will amaze you.
I'm not sure I can commit for 30 days
Your daily commitment is only 15 minutes. This is because the principle of the challenge is that "little and often is the best way to learn". 15 minutes is a pretty manageable amount of time to devote to your French.

You can fit it in comfortably:
• before breakfast
• during your lunch break
• after dinner
• ...even while waiting for the bus!

The power is in the consistency - working at it for a short time every day. You'll be amazed at the huge progress you make from simply showing up every day to work on one area of your French!

Remember, you get the audio of the story, as well as the text, so you can easily take part and keep up wherever you happen to be!
What if I am unhappy with the challenge?
I would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with the challenge, contact me at any point during the challenge and I'll issue you full and prompt refund
How long do I have access to the course after the end of the challenge?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
